Working at home ?
First thing to
do when you work of at home, it s to reorganized the office, because it is
false to believe you can simply settle in the living room or in the kitchen.
You should always determine a particular space for your work place, an office
where tranquility is a major asset. That s what I did just recently. To work in
a true office would give me the opportunity to deal with regular time; like
waking up at regular hours and eat all my three meals a day, things I omit
sometimes working at home! So you must establish a daily routine and keep to
it, no matter what!
If you have children, you should made sure with them that they understand well that although you are at the house, you must work, and consequently, they do not disturbed you. The schedule is important also: I often tend to work the evening and make other things during the day, that s flexibility, but bad idea, no productivity that way, when you work at home you need a routine. One day, I hope to be able to work during the day, and to be able to close the evening and the weekend. Solitude, isolation, that s something I found difficult to deal with, when you work in a true office It gives the opportunity to socialize. I have to deal with that! But while being alone at the office, you avoid waste of time with the coffee machine, and the personal discussions with other employees! You avoid also the transport, which notches quickly in the working time. So the good and bad of my home based business are magnified by the reality that I am now in a business on my own. I am the boss and get to totally make all the decisions, but I am also on my own dealing with the defeats and frustrations that will happen along the way while I am building up my business. Only time and the quality of my work can differentiate my results.
